Finally BlackBerry Research In Motion (RIM) and U.S. wireless carrier AT&T officially announced the new 3G BlackBerry Torch 9800. The Torch is the first BlackBerry with both a touch screen display and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It’s the first RIM device to run new BlackBerry 6 mobile OS.

AT&T will be the first carrier in the world to offer the Torch when it becomes available on August 12. The official  specs are as follows: Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks (850/900/1800/1900MHz); Tri-band 3G UMTS networks (2100/1900/850/800 MHz); 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi; 5.0 megapixel camera; 512 MB flash memory / 512 MB SDRAM; 4 GB eMMC + 4 GB media card included Expandable memory – support for microSD card up to 32 GB; and an optical trackpad.
